The Original Hot Yoga
105 degrees. 40% humidity. 90 grueling minutes.
That's hot yoga.
And that's exactly what I endured yesterday for the first time ever. With all my Crossfitting, I can feel my body getting tighter and less flexible. That's a problem for this ex-gymnast. So, I thought yoga might supplement my tightening muscles, and when I found out you can burn something like 700 calories in one session, I said bring it on!
Let me just say: HOLY SMOKES! I have never, not ever, sweated that much in my entire life. With no exaggeration whatsoever, in just 3 minutes of sitting in the room, my shins were dripping. The towel of mine (which is required) was so wet after an hour that the neon color of my sports bra was rubbing off on it. By the end, I looked like I had just gotten out of the shower. And I could have rung out my towel and clothes easily. I can't say it was my favorite workout ever, but I'm definitely giving it more tries (since I got a great Groupon deal for it!). And yes, friends, I'm hydrating like crazy. Already today (Friday), I've put down 100 ounces of water. My goal is to drink my body weight in ounces of water by the end of the day! If nothing else, this will teach me to drink, drink, drink!!
And if you catch this post in time:
Adam pitches TONIGHT (Friday) in the second game of a doubleheader. He should be headed out to the mound maybe around 9 EST...or 6 PST.
