The Christmas Clutter
My kitchen is not a kitchen. It's a war zone. A disaster. Along with the rest of my entire 700 square foot apartment. I have 3 piles of laundry sitting on our giant bean bag, the dining room table hasn't been eaten on in over a week, pine needles litter our floor, and I've only made dinner twice in 6 nights...and the bed the same amount. Toothbrush splatters spot the bathroom mirror and Adam's running out of underwear. Luckily, I haven't caved on the dishes rule: no dishes in the sink before bedtime. No amount of gift making could come between me and that law. But my creative flow has proven to come between most everything else. Adam and I decided this year that we'd figure out a way to make all (or at least almost all) of our Christmas presents! It's been a blast, and we've really enjoyed seeing the finished products...but with all the love and time funneled into our gifts, we've managed to neglect most of our daily Conley checklists.
I finally got the majority of our Christmas cards printed, enveloped, and stamped late last night. Like the rest of the stuff, our Christmas cards are completely handmade (not literally with a pen, but instead on Adam's computer), similar to all the invitations and announcements he made for our wedding. Next year, I'll know to print the cards out on different paper though...Staples let me down a tad :( But they turned out cute and fun, and really really lovely. The cards will be in the mail Wednesday morning and we're really hoping they make it to their destinations before Christmas! As for the presents, family...they might be just a tad late. I'm not sure though. They're made with as much love as possible, so that should make up for their tardiness, if in fact, they're late.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot! Amidst the mess, you can still see our cupboards! We have no space to display our Christmas cards, so we improvised! The ribbon is just taped to the inside of the cupboard, and the cards are attached using little baby clothespins that I painted red!! Now, I just need more cards! So send me them! Haha :) And I must give credit to the Rickards...I totally got this idea from their kitchen!
