Day Four Hundred and Seventy-One

The Eve

Bright and early, my Christmas Eve began at Crossfit. They called this workout "The Twelve Days of Crossfit." And it was completed just like the song. Instead of singing "five golden rings," we did "five siiiiiiit ups." Followed by 4 walking lunges, 3 kettle swings, 2 goblet squats, and then one agility ladder. Only, they forgot to make it somewhat rhyme. I was killing the workout until I got to 9 push presses. Then, forget about it. Ha! The last four rounds were terrible! But after it was over, my conscious about not eating as much food as possible on Christmas vanished.

Rule breakers at their finest. Posted on the fence, in plain sight, the sign reads, "Please stay off grass." Well, that wasn't about to happen. The guys have only a few weeks left until their first bullpens and want to be somewhat in shape before they begin. Adam has started refining his throwing motion and think he's onto something exciting! I can't wait to see how his new technique translates on the mound!

So apparently, the boys aren't technically supposed to be working out right now. Their facility is closed, but they've been able to "sneak" in to get their work done. But yesterday, there was no sneaking. All the doors were completely locked and therefore had no way of completing their workout. So...Kendall to the rescue! I called the owners of the Crossfit gym I use and they opened their facility to the boys!! We're so grateful for Juli and Mike's willingness to make such a kind offer. Because of their kindness, Adam was able to show me how much of a stud he is at squatting!

Family Church is the place to be on Christmas Eve. For the second year in a row, Adam and I have attended the candlelit Christmas Eve service and find pure joy in it each time. It's the perfect reminder that Jesus is the light of the world. And through one believer - just like the flame of one candle - an infinite amount of lives can be reached for the Kingdom.

At 11:30 PM, Santa came to visit the Hart's home. Well, technically, Adam and Kendall came to visit the Hart home. Bearing so many gifts. I finished wrapping late last night...just when momma Stacy was getting off work. We met Corey and Stacy at their home and unloaded boxes and boxes of clothes, toys, knick knacks, and everything superhero imaginable. It brought us more joy last night than anything else we could have done. We were all exhausted but somehow...the four of us managed to stay up until 1:30 AM talking, laughing, and telling story after story. It was such a sweet time and we're so thankful that they let us be apart of their Christmas tradition, in even a small way.
