Day Four Hundred and Forty-Eight

The Small Town Southern Man

Cruzan Ampitheater: Southern Florida's #1 place to be on December 1, 2012. A spontaneous 30 minute drive with a couple of country-loving friends led us to 75 degrees and an Alan Jackson Christmas concert!

We showed up at 4:00 and finally got to see that tall and sweet Southern Man make his appearance at 9:00 PM. Until then, Channing, Andrew, Adam and I hung out, drank some drinks, sang some songs, and caught up on life. We love these two newlyweds and are so thankful for their friendship.

The crowd went wild when Alan came out. He's such a good man, which makes it even easier to like him and his music. From a boy raised in the country to a man living in the spotlight, Alan Jackson found a way to turn his passion into his life's ambition...something that Adam had a moment appreciating last night. He leaned over to me and said, "Kendall, these people here don't get it. They go wild over this incredible musician. But they look past the fact that he's just a normal guy. They could be him too. The only difference is: he just never gave up on his dream." I couldn't help but smile back at Adam. He's precious.

I had an incredible night with my Small Town (Northern) Man.

"And he bowed his head to Jesus
And he stood for Uncle Sam
And he only loved one woman
Was always proud of what he had."

Thanks Channing, Andrew, Adam, and Alan for a perfect night with beautiful friends, comfy boots, and the sweet, sweet voice of a humble country artist who loves the Lord.
