Day Three Hundred and Eighty-Two

The Running Mates

Big Boy is probably one of the most spoiled children on the planet. And you can blame this woman. Because Nana gives him anything his little heart desires. As she should! That's what Gramas are for! Together with Papa, Hunter is in wonderful hands during the day while Ellie and Joey are at work and school. He is always smiling and laughing with Nana...especially when she chases him around the yard. They're such a precious couple and two of my favorite people. We spent much of the afternoon hanging outside while the September sun beat down on our backs. It was beautiful...and it always is when I'm with them.

Out in the backyard, Papa was busy at work. Nana (who I call Grama), is an avid plant-grower (there must be another word for that). Her green thumb has been throbbing lately, so Papa's been working hard to build her a few more garden boxes. That man will do anything for Grama. He reminds me of Adam in that way. He's so service oriented toward her. That's the kind of man this world needs more of. And with Hunter as his side-kick, hopefully in 16 years, the world will have at least one more hard working gentleman to add to its dwindling numbers. When BigBoy saw Papa moving the rocks from the wheelbarrow, he grabbed his own shovel and did his best to be just like Papa.

I hate working out alone. It's not fun. Not fun at all. But since being back in Washington, I've found myself the best workout partner. Mommy and I make a perfect team. And I really enjoy our alone time together, sweaty at the gym. She pushes me and I do the same for her. She's 20 years older than me, but you'd never know it. Even with rods in her back, she can do just about everything I can and doesn't even sweat! Ok, that's not true. Her face just doesn't sweat...and that's not fair! We were a pair of tired girls after our HIIT workout tonight, but we enjoyed every second of it!

I, of course, had to get an action shot. One exercise we added to our workout was Bosu Ball squats. Shoot me. My mom made me look like a fumbling idiot on there. I have the worst balance...and she...well, she's exactly the opposite. So while I wiggled around, looking like an amateur, she pumped out perfect squats without wobbling at all...pro. Turns out I still have things to learn from my Mommy! ;)
