Day Three Hundred and Eighty-Four

The North Central Grown Ups

These are my grandparents. And they're great. I'm currently sleeping in their upstairs spare bedroom. The same room that Grandpa has turned into his catchall of everything collectible. Trains. Swords. License Plates. Keys. Books. Rubber Bands. You name it...he's got it. No kidding. At least if I ever needed a porcelain mask or a wooden frog, for whatever reason, he'd probably know the exact direction to point me in ;) I'm enjoying being here with them and grateful that they've opened their spare bedroom door for me. They've got a love and respect for each other that I greatly admire and am so happy to call them mine. I posed them today outside their front door, in front of their precious autumn decorations, and told them to smile. And this is what I got! So sweet.

After a long day at Dad and Grandma Lolly's house, moving and unpacking like a madman, I found a seat at Joe Albi stadium to relax in while I watched the NC football team take on Ferris. Pam invited me, as her son, Mr. Thomas, is serving as the Indian's offensive coordinator! It's so wonderful to see all my friends growing up and finding their niches in life! My alma mater lost though and I made sure to give their offensive coordinator a bad time for it! And I have to add...it was so weird being back at a high school football game! The last time I stood in that stadium was over 6 years ago, and my goodness, those children are so small!!

Oh Pam. I love this woman. She's been in my life since sophomore year of high school, and for a long time, she was a second mom to me. We've been through train wrecks and rainbows together, and for her loyalty and kindness, we'll forever remain close friends. Plus, she makes the best twice baked potatoes of all time, and for that, we'll never stray. Haha! After the game, we took our conversation to dinner and enjoyed each other's company over a beer and some taco pizza. In the past few days, I've been able to reconnect with so many different friends and I'm enjoying every second of it. But this girl...she's stinkin tired. Really tired.
