"The Hurt and The Healer"
Would ya look at this guy?! With his new Jupiter Hammerhead hat donned, Dad left the confines of the Evergreen Hospital walls in style. And now, he's off enjoying the comfort and peace of HOME! He was discharged this afternoon, and very excited to return to a bit of normalcy. I don't blame him! Ellie is still in Seattle, helping out where it's needed and hopefully, the next few days will slow down so everyone can inhale a deep breath. So proud of you, Mays family (Weitman, D'Alessandro, and Schend families too!)
Thank God for seeing us through this.
As you can clearly see, I am a body builder...and today was my first fitness show. I've been practicing my strength poses for about a year now, and I think I've finally got them down. I mean, really, smiles, grunts, and mean faces are all a part of the package, right?! And the flexing thing, well, that's overrated. Ok, I'm not a body builder. Not a fitness competitor either. Just a girl who tried doing a HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) workout today, failed miserably, sweated like crazy, and decided to document the aftermath. I've not been working out as often as I'd like to lately, to tell the truth. With all the traveling, raining, and errand-running, I've managed to neglect my workouts and I don't wish to keep it that way. Hopefully, things will settle down and I can begin committing to some sort of routine. I'm thinking another round of P90X is on the radar.
I sort of felt like a Mom today, dealing with a son who forgot to pack his lunch for school. Only, I'm not a mom. Adam isn't my kid. And he didn't forget anything. But I liked the idea that he needed me while he was at work. The game was delayed tonight, and with a less than impressive buffet in the locker room, Adam called me and asked me to bring him a lunch! Homemade double meat "sammich," as Adam calls it, Baked Lays, and a Gatorade. Oh yeah, look at me go! I've got this whole "Mom Thing" figured out! Haha.
Hurricane Isaac is rapidly approaching. It'll be here on Monday. I don't know if it's because of the storm or just because God got really really creative, but the color of the sky this evening was outrageously beautiful. We rarely see sunsets like this here on the East Coast, and I was loving every moment of it. Adam told me later that when he saw the sky, he thought of me and wished that he had a camera. He wanted to take a picture just in case I didn't get the chance to see it! Aww.
Alejandra is back in Jupiter after spending a few days in Tampa with her Mommy, who just returned from two months in their home country of Uruguay!! I was so excited to see her pretty face...and when Hamilton the Hammerhead came down to say hi, we got a picture with the sweaty, stinky shark!
