Day Two Hundred and Thirty-Four

The Husband's Wife's Sister's Birthday  : )

It was one happy 22nd birthday for my sweet sissy, Ellie. At least, I think she'd say that. If it were my birthday, I'd have enjoyed it. A lot. Waking up to an exciting day is always something of a craze in this family's house. Everyone is rushing around, trying to tie up loose ends and happily ready to help whenever asked...Even when you're asked to hold down the legs of your precious nephew while he gets his shots. That's how our day started. Hunter had his 18-month check-up today, on Momma's birthday. Originally, Ellie thought that he was due for another round of shots. Hunter doesn't like shots. And so, she asked me to accompany her to the doctor's in order to help her hold him down. Oh great. Of course, that's exactly what I want to do to my BigBoy. Thankfully, there were no shots on the agenda for today!!! Just a check-up...and this baby passed all the tests. Champ.

Chef Kinsey was the master of all things fondue tonight. Ellie's favorite. Gosh, what a blessing it is to have a professional chef in the family! I won't argue with that! MMMM. What a lucky girl!

You bet that's melted butter! And yes, those skewers are stabbed with raw meat. It's easily the most delicious way to enjoy steak or chicken. But probably the most unhealthy too. Some things, you've just got to be willing to trade for. Tonight, every single one of us traded. To add to the unhealthy style of her birthday dinner, Kinsey also made a melted cheese dip AND chocolate fondue, complete with strawberries, bananas, rice krispies, and brownies. GAH! I'll probably need to do 3 P90X workouts tomorrow to make up for tonight!

I love our family. We're all so close, and whenever we can, we enjoy a meal together. On special days, we go all out. And for special people too! Happy 22nd Birthday Ellie Ann. I'm so proud of the woman you're becoming and the wonderful Mommy that you already are. Through all of life's ups and downs, you've maintained so incredibly strong, and I admire you greatly for you determination to persevere. You're wonderful, Ellie. And such a precious gift to my life. I love you and miss you dearly every second we're away. Hopefully, you enjoyed your 22nd :) I did!

And a "Thank You" goes out to my sweet husband, who set up the blog tonight. He knew I'd be out this evening with the birthday girl, and offered to help post the pictures to save me some time! You're SUCH a sweetheart! Can't wait to see you! XOXO. 143.
