Day Two Hundred and Ten

The Hopper Booster BBQ

It was a beautiful day for a BBQ. The sun was shining, the birds were chirping, and baseball season was in the air. You could feel it all around. Especially at Newbridge Bank Park. The Grasshopper Booster Club hosted the boys and their families to a homemade BBQ meal, and gosh, they can cook up a mean one here! The food was unbelievably delicious, but the company was even better. The people here are absolutely wonderful and love providing services to the boys in any way they can. It's a funny place, Greensboro is. This park is just fantastic and in comparison to all the others, we're certainly spoiled here. The boosters are incredible; different than anything we experienced at WSU. And the people are genuine in a way that I've not seen before. All of them. The ones at the gas station. The ones at Wal-Mart. The ones at the mall. Everywhere you go, you are greeted with a smile. And I like that.

After lunch, Adam got ready for a day of 14 innings; a double header to make up for the rainout on Thursday. The Hoppers took the first game 11-1, but were outscored in the second game 3-5 in the ninth inning. Tomorrow, Charlie, my son (ok, he's our roommate...and the one in the red shirt), will start in the fourth game of the series. He's a lefty who throws ched, just like Adam.
