Day One Hundred and Forty-Seven

The Abacoa Town Center Cruise In - Classic Car Show

Once or twice a month, Town Center brings these beauties out. It's a classic car show that could wow anyone - even someone as unenthusiastic about cars as me. Just outside our front door and around the corner, our neighborhood was alive with roaring engines and old funky tunes. People of all sorts flock to the free event, wandering from car to car, holding a beer and drooling over the fashioned metal. We stumbled upon a Ford Shelby Cobra (complete with a snake in the engine) and the owner invited me to sit in it. I gladly accepted! And a few yards down, Adam found a DeLorean (the car from Back to the Future) and mused over its good looks. We admired each one, making sure to note the fancy quirks of some. They were impressive, and as we made our way through the maze, Adam informed me that someday, he's going to own one (Maybe his Raptor in 50 years? I think that counts, right?). Yeah Honey, we'll have to see about that...

We spent the rest of our day at Wal-Mart, in preparation for the Superbowl and this month's meals. Gosh, grocery shopping for Adam is both slightly embarrassing and really expensive. Sometimes I look into the cart and wonder if I'm feeding a teenager or a grown man. But it's all about the high calories, and one can of Spaghetti-O's has plenty of them. Chili dogs too. And Dad's famous cheesecake recipe, which found its way into our fridge tonight, has much more of the same. Calories. Lots of them. And boy, does our home smell goooood! Thanks for the recipe Daddy! I hope they turn out well! I guess we'll see in the morning!

And: Romney won the Nevada Caucus tonight.
