Day One Hundred and Fifty

The Rainy Good News

And so the rainy saga continues. It's been like this for a while now and doesn't look like it's letting up any time soon. The forecast says rain through Sunday. Bleh. So much for gettin' my tan on! Our skin's fading white(r), and no longer do we have the summery glow of our wedding days. If only the rain would stop and the clouds disappear! Until then, we'll continue sprinting to and from our truck in a mad dash for the door. Or, like I do, just wait. And wait. And wait a little longer for that tiny tiny break in the storm when running through it won't get you quite as drenched as running through it a few seconds before would. Today, we fared the storm, heading out for errands before the downpour. And as if on cue, the second we jumped back into the truck to head home, the rain picked up again, and in no less than 2 minutes, it was crashing down and backing up traffic. Adam made the comment that the wiper blades are useless in this sort of weather; the rain was falling so hard that the wind was more useful than the blades. And so we drove without the wipers, on the freeway, in traffic, all the way home. And I didn't like it! This is Florida. And while I do hate the rain, I'll take it. Because the sunshine is unbeatable.

And while at the mall, we witnessed something neither of us had ever seen before. We each exchanged looks of disbelief: a woman, middle aged, pushing her dog in a stroller. A dog in a stroller. In the mall. I never thought I'd see the day.

Two more things, saving the best for last:
1) The Marlins released their Top 20 prospect list for 2012. Adam is sitting at number 7, and they've estimated that he'll dawn the Miami Marlins uniform in 2013. Check this out (And click on Adam's picture at #7 when you get to the page):
 Incredible.

2) Dad's MRI results came in today: THE TUMOR IS SHRINKING!!!!!!!!!! PRAISE GOD! After months and months of disheartening news, this is something he wasn't expecting to hear. And thank the Lord! The goal of his chemo treatments aimed to slow the growth of the tumor, with hopes that it would stop growing completely. Instead, it's not only stopped growing, it's shrunk in size as well! He'll be continuing treatments until this thing is knocked outta the park!
Absolutely incredible.
