The Loser Letter
This is what happens when you lose a bet. You're forced to write a letter. But when you haven't addressed one - by yourself - in years, confusion wages war. And silly me, thinking that Adam might have, in fact, paid a bit of attention in elementary school. He must have skipped letter-addressing day. His first question came out like this, "The stamp goes in the top right, right?" I shot him a look of horror and hoped he was pulling my leg. But when I came to his side to see how things were going, I could only shake my head. He unintentionally left his name from the return address...just forgot to write it in. And then, did the exact same thing when writing the recipient address - he left off his Dad's name, to whom he owed $5. And so the letter, before I got to it, had ZERO names on it. Just a couple of iffy addresses. With 10 bucks in it because he didn't have any change. And if it wasn't for my heroic acts, Alex, Adam's little brother, might have walked away $10 richer :) Instead, Adam's Papa will soon have his hands on a thoughtful note and a bet well won. Adam shouldn't have put money on the Pats, turns out, but more pressing, he shouldn't have skipped that all-important letter addressing day way back when. At least he'll always have me by his side, helping him through his struggles!
I love you Sweetie, even if you have the occasional brain fart. It was worth the giggles! XOXO
And Happy Birthday Dan!! We love you and appreciate, dearly, what you've done in the lives of our family. Thank you for being so strong for my mother and sisters. And for your pursuit of the Lord through it all. Hugs and kisses from Florida.
Go enjoy Mat Kearney tonight!
