Day Seventy

The Festival of Chocolate

A Chocoholics dream. My dream. Chocolate. Everywhere!! I dragged my unenthusiastic husband to the festival, making sure to warm him up first with a cinnamon roll breakfast in bed. He played nicely, but it definitely wasn't his preference. At least not until we came upon the Chocolate Showpiece Competition. Four artists striving for the blue ribbon. Their medium? Chocolate! Everything created was to be sculpted and pieced out of the edible drug - by that, I mean chocolate - and to our amazement, their artwork stood three feet in height. A timeframe of only two hours set the pace, and with sweat glistening from each chef's forehead, this was a competition unlike any we'd ever seen. The intensity grabbed Adam's attention in more ways than one, and in the end, he'd enjoyed himself more than his original dread. Pictured above is this year's winner, who's Thanksgiving masterpiece captured the hearts of the judges, and my sweet Adam too.
