Day Seventy-Two

The Trip North

Between the 11 hours of passenger seat driving, countless crazed drivers, two tanks of gas, an astounding number of Waffle Houses, a malfunctioning MacBook, and slight desperation, my photo of the day was one managed out of compromise. The original shot of Adam standing beneath the "Welcome to Alabama" sign morphed itself into the one above. A picture of a picture made into another picture. A perfect way to end the long day? Maybe not the most ideal, and definitely a test of patience, but Damon's hug was well worth it! And I can't really complain with the new POTD...what was one handsome boy is now two! :)
We made the spontaneous decision to road trip north for our first Thanksgiving together in Kentucky with Adam's grandma, and ended up stopping for the night in Montgomery, Alabama. We were met with a big smile out of our groomsman-friend, Damon, who was excited to see some fresh faces, if only for a few hours. Tomorrow we'll arrive in Paintsville, Kentucky, but not before a much needed night's rest and a fat Waffle House breakfast to start our day off in true Sweet Home Alabama style.
