Day Forty-Three

The "Love You" Pumpkin Patch

Forty-Three. This was our kind of day. It says so in the number. We woke up this morning to a powerful sermon, followed by pumpkin picking, pumpkin carving, and much-needed fellowship with another newlywed couple! Now, Florida patches are certainly no match to Greenbluff's in Spokane, but they do their best to mimic the farm feeling. With hundreds of pumpkins scattered across the lawn of a local church, we were met with the tall task of choosing the perfect orange-masterpiece. And I think we exceeded our expectations. There's proof in the final products, which are displayed proudly on the ledge of our front porch for all of Jupiter to see! Our first trip ever to a pumpkin patch together was a sweet time, made better by the friendships we created throughout the day. The invite to the pumpkin patch came from The Rickards, married only 4 months ago in North Carolina! They revived our taste buds with home-cooked barbecued chicken and homemade icecream, topped off with fresh baked cookies. They spoiled us today with their fun ideas, delicious food, steep carving competition, and even better conversation. I should have expected this much out of day forty-three; it's the best number I know. Adam and I constantly find ourselves lying in bed at night, in awe of God's continual presence and guidance through the uncertainty of life in a new city. We've met some amazing people in a very short time, and are excited to see the potential of these friendships.
