Day Eight Hundred and Sixteen

The(y) Came as Friends and Left as Family

Hey everyone, it's Adam. Unfortunately the two pictures that depict yesterday don't really depict yesterday at all. You can argue that a picture is worth a thousand words, but I know that what this picture means to me, is worth much more than any amount of words. This is a picture of our good friends Kyle and Sue Johnson (newlyweds). We attended their wedding three short months ago. Yesterday, they gave their life, their marriage, and their careers to Christ. Shortly after their decision to follow Jesus, they were baptized, in the name of The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Kyle is committed to loving God, honoring Him, and being made more and more in his image as he pursues a God that loves him indescribably. In life, we all find ourselves in situations we cannot handle without being foolish, selfish, or dishonest, etc. Jesus is the hero of the story; a God that loves His creation, and offers the free gift of grace to all those who accept him as Father. Proverbs 3: 5-6
says:

5                Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding

6                       In all your ways submit to Him,
and He will make your paths straight.

Kyle knows this truth and is responsible for loving Sue as Christ loved the church. For that I thank God.

Sue is committed to loving God and honoring Him. As Kyle's bride, she represents the church. As the bride, Sue has also committed to loving and supporting Kyle as they grow together. Heirs to the kingdom in heaven and blameless before God, they walk boldly - together - for Christ now.

I could write so much more about their story, but it is my hope and prayer that this story would be to God's glory and not my own. That the message on this blog speaks of a just and gracious God that knows you and loves you, and not my words and opinions.

We've prayed and prayed over Kyle and Susan for a long time. And now, we're leaving this conference with a new brother and sister in Christ. God answered boldly this week.

After the baptism - which was amazing - we raised our arms in surrender. We sang and celebrated. What a perfect God.
