Day 3,455

The Home Evaluation

We’re working around the clock to make this thing happen—yesterday was more organizing as well as the appraisal and the inspection simultaneously. Talk about pressure! It’s no joke the amount of time and attention to detail comes with the task of inspection. Surely, the job was named properly and I definitely overlooked many of the things they didn’t. Note to self: dust the A/C ceiling vents. Gracious. However, dirty vents or not, the inspector couldn’t give us any more information other than that everything they tested or reviewed was minimal and the appraiser likewise gave compliments and though he couldn’t tell us his evaluation, we have confidence the sale will move forward!

On that note: turn on the pool heater, we’re gonna party!

Pizza pool party!

Day 3,106

The Graduate

Guess who’s 1 and officially a graduate of ISR?!

Molly Lou, that’s who!!
My fourth baby to gain the skills to save her own life in case of an emergency AND WE ARE SO PROUD!! Wonderful job, Baby Girl!

Eat it all up, Lady.
You sure deserve it.

And to the woman who’s taught each of my children this necessary and life saving skill: Mrs. Gina, Adam and I are beyond grateful to you for the time and love you pour into these children and your work. We’ve not only gained a cherished instructor, but we’ve gained a friend too. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the last four years. I am so thankful we were able to entrust such a dear part of our lives to you - you are surely a treasure, my friend and we’ll miss seeing your smiling face every day!

Day 3,105

The Perfect Float

Headlining a day full of news yesterday was this.
Molly’s second to last day of ISR lessons meant she had to fall into the pool with her summer clothes on. And WOW! She did such an amazing job!!! Our tiniest Conley is nearly officially graduated from her four week swim course, which means this Mama can breathe just a little bit easier.

YAAAAAAY MOLLY!!!
We’re all SO thankful she’s got such an important and life saving skill now! Especially with this many kids running all around my life every day, I am so grateful for this incredible resource.
____________

In other news:
The Coronavirus.
Since yesterday, among many other closures, the virus has halted Bearett’s baseball season and also Daddy’s. Bearett’s is suspended through April. And as for Daddy...Adam was called back to the clubhouse yesterday after the conclusion of their game to learn that Spring Training had, in fact, been cancelled. No more Spring Training games. There’s been a tentative two-week suspension of the season, with games resuming April 9th at the earliest. The Marlins clubhouse is closed all Friday, all Saturday, and the players will again converge Sunday afternoon, when more information will be given. And now, you know literally just as much as we know. We’re not panicking. We’re not worried. We’re not mass-buying toilet paper. We’re trusting the Lord, wherever and however this is brought before us, as we know He is the Creator and sustainer of life itself. And nothing is out of His sovereign plan. Take care, friends! Be faithful, Christians. Enjoy your homes. Enjoy your family. Rest. Read. Prepare. And wash your hands. Often. Don’t forget: we’re all experiencing this for the first time and we’re all in this together. Have grace and be kind.

I’ll post more information as I get it.
Night!

Day 3,099

The Molly Cheering Section

All Conleys on deck for the first time together to watch Molly learn to float! I can’t believe this is our FOURTH child to have learned this skill from Mrs. Gina but oh, so thankful for the life saving lessons learned over the 4-6 week course. Molly is nearing completion but still has a little more work to do before she graduates. She’s an expert turn-er into her float, but she tends to either lay back too far or sit up a tiny bit too much in her float, so that’s what we’ve been busy working to achieve this week. And she’s doing absolutely incredible. So proud of you Molly!

Day 3,088

The Crybaby Who Isn’t Even Sad

So she’s a liar just like her sisters were. Uh.
She screams her whole entire lesson with Mrs. Gina, but she’ll gladly do literally anything I have her do with a big ol happy grin on her face. It’s ok Molly - if anyone understands, I do. But my Love, you’re gonna learn that float no matter how much you don’t like swimming with anyone else. I promise, if you just TRY to enjoy her, you’ll have the most fun ever and best part: you’ll have all the tricks you need to be safe in the water!

Because once you’re safe in the water, trust me...it’s SO much more fun!

You’ll get to learn new head orientations and even learn how to look like George Washington!

You could even have a pool mohawk! Think of all the possibilities, my Dear! Let’s get this done and stop crying when we’re in the pool! Ready: go!

Day 3,074

The Fourth Water Babe

Baby #4. ISR swum lessons round #4.
Some things just are. And this is definitely one of them.

The kids loved their time once again with Mrs. Gina. Molly isn’t quite sure what she thinks of the whole deal, but I’ll give her a week before she loves Mrs. Gina just as much as the rest of us do. What a sweet treat to be back in her pool and back in her company! ISR babies for life!

Day 2,293

The False Start

On your marks...
Get set...
AMELIA, I didn’t say “Go” yet!
Uhhhhh.

The kids all jump into the pool together now.
Getting a candid shot of it is not in the realm of possibilities, however.

Day 2,267

The 31st Firsts

For the first time in her young life, Ella Mae jump-dived to Mama, swimming nearly five feet all by herself with the biggest grin on her face.

Our little sassy (baggy) pants also said “I love you” for the very first time upon waking up yesterday morning.

All this on my 31st birthday! You sure know the way to my heart, kiddies. Let’s have some chocolate frosted cupcakes to celebrate!

And yes, I absolutely felt my age yesterday in case you were wondering.

Day 2,246

The Day That Just Kept on Getting Better

I mean. Seriously?
This is how the girls started the morning.

This is how we played in the afternoon.

This is how they helped in the evening.

And this is how he battled - and won in epic fashion - at the end of the night.

For the first time ever, the monkey made the player of the game pie his own self in the face, making for shrieking toddler laughter the rest of the night.

For the story on Adam’s second career save and self-inflicting pied face:

(All of the face pie-ing photos were taken from the Miami Marlins Twitter account and are not my own)
