The Florida Perks
So, the ant man came yesterday.
He said that in his 30 years of pest control, he’s not ever seen ants this bad around an in un-abandoned pool before.
Hey, we go big or go home around here. Apparently the ants we’re hosting have assumed the Conley attitude. Only, I’m not so sure I like it on them. In any case, the fire ants have been baited and hopefully all die soon so we can enjoy the pool again.
There certainly are perks to living in Florida. This does not make the list.

This does though.
December 10th and we were outside sweating as Adam threw long toss to me. It got into the 40s last week, but the temperature is back up to the 80s again, which gives us every opportunity to play catch somewhere other than inside a heated facility. I’ll take it!

Honestly though, this is sorta how we’re feeling now that the temperature’s gone back up. We were really liking those chilly mornings and nights.
(Molly isn’t quite yet a fan of Ella Mae’s baby-holding skills. Orrrr, lack thereof. She doesn’t understand that the rips and jerks and restraints are actually all very tender shows of emotion and love from Ella Mae. RhinocerSis for sure, y’all.)

A couple more perks:
Dirty baby toes from December evening outside crawling expeditions.

And hanging lights without having to shovel snow off the roof first.
Sometimes, Florida is far away and hot and muggy and gross. But to us, it’s home. And it’s beautiful. And we really, really love it.

Mostly because of what’s inside.
Mostly because of what’s inside.
Thank you, Jesus.
