The San Diego Zoo
Oh what a day.
One of Amelia's favorite books is called "Dear Zoo," and yesterday, we made it come alive.
"I wrote to the zoo to send me a pet.
They sent me an elephant!
It was too big, so I sent it back."
"So they sent me a monkey!"
"It was too silly!"
"I sent it back."

Now, the book doesn't talk about the zoo sending a panda, but we stopped by to see one anyways.
And as luck would have it, we got to see two!!
Two funny birds too!
And oh, Mama, look! A cougar! Just like you and Dada!
We saw all sorts of animals that wouldn't work as pets yesterday.
The book ends by reading:
"So they thought very hard and sent me...
A puppy!!!
He was perfect. I kept him!"
Now Amelia, don't be getting any ideas because a dog is just not a feasible option for this lifestyle currently. But definitely one day! Until then, I'll take you to all the zoos you could ever want to visit so you can enjoy each beautiful creature God created for us to enjoy!
