Day Seventeen Hundred and Thirty-Seven

The Island Coronado and Petco Park

San Diego.
You, my friend, are stunning.

Amelia and I were invited to a day out on the beach at Coronado Island with another baseball family. So, we packed up and set sail!

Driving over the bridge would've been a neat experience, but not nearly as sentimental as riding a ferry across the waters! Look! Bubbles!

Oh, I approve of this, Mama!

And I approve of you, my Traveling Beauty.
She's learning so much these days and it makes my heart pound faster watching her grow and take things in so quickly. She's such a trooper. And I can tell that though sometimes the days are long and sometimes routine is all that seems envied, she's thriving. She loves the constant "new" that seems to define her life so far.

New places. New experiences. New food. New beds. New transportation. New faces. New cities. New stadiums. New stores.
Same Dada. Same Mama. Same love.

Amelia's newest form of transportation might be her favorite. And my newest city might be my favorite so far too! San Diego, you are stunning!

Coranado, you too!

Amelia's first bus ride as a toddler was adorable. She loves stairs with all her heart, but every time she tried to climb them, the ground would move and she would fall! "MOM? What's happening?!!" That's called traffic, Amelia. And so, she sat. And I couldn't help but smile. She is just the cutest thing I've ever seen.

Not bad, right?!
We met our friends about .7 miles from the Hotel Del Coronado. Amelia and I ended up walking something like 5 miles yesterday (exhausted Mama), but it was well worth the memories. And the burned calories too.

Mimi HATED sand the first time I took her to the beach just a few weeks ago. This time?! She LOVED it!

Coronado is home to a military base and that means? Lots of planes and helicopters! Amelia was fascinated. She enjoyed every second of her Pacific Ocean beach time and wore as much sand as she could muster.

I love you MillieGirl.
So much it hurts.
Thank you for exploring this big huge world with me.
I can't imagine a better partner - well, Dada too - to journey these days with.

After nearly missing the ferry back to San Diego, after nearly being stuck behind a forever-long train, after poop in the bathtub, after 5 miles in sandals and one lost baseball ticket, we finally made it to Petco Park for the Marlins second game against the Padres.
San Diego, you just keep getting better and better. Fun fact: our hotel is connected to the park, there's a grocery store inside the park, AND their fans are electric! What a fun atmosphere!

Tomato, anyone?!
(Amelia eats tomatoes like apples and it's hilarious.)

FishWin!

Love you, my ACons!

And though we're loving our time city-hopping and baseball-watching, we do just genuinely miss our Dada. We're finally home for a long homestand starting Thursday and can't wait to snuggle our guy at home.

Thank you, San Diego! It was a pleasure!
