The Ninth
I've known Adam all along as a starter.
So when he warmed up yesterday as a closer, it was...weird.
I can't decide which position is worse on my nerves. Because it matters, right?! Haha!
As a starter, you control the pace of the game. If you throw well, then great. If you don't, then you have five days of torment and suffering before you can redeem yourself. As a reliever, you control the end of the game. If you throw well, then great. If you don't, then you just screwed up your ERA in one inning of work. Either way, it's havoc on my nerves and I don't know which is the worse of two evils.
Apparently though, it doesn't affect Adam like it does me. And thank goodness for that because he's the one with the job. #71 threw well yesterday in his first Grapefruit League appearance of 2014. He gave up two ground ball singles, struck a batter out, and left the game with the win..oh yeah, and my favorite...no walks! Yeah!
Keep it up Honey! Your baby fan club loves you!
