Day Five Hundred and Fifty

The Selfish Spring

Now that Adam's down in minor league camp, he's getting more innings! I'll celebrate to that! Mostly because it means I can take more pictures of him ;) Videos too. He likes the videos I take. Mostly because he has a filthy fastball. Hahaha :)

Adam threw two innings yesterday in an intersquad game against the AAA team. He sat 93-95, touching 96 and 97, and actually friends, he threw A LOT of offspeed pitches too! HOORAY! That's been his main focus this spring: developing his slider (and changeup). Coach Rosie told Adam to "be selfish" out there right now. I looked at Rosie with a puzzled face when he passed that information on to me. What? "What do you mean, Rosie?" He explained to me that Adam needs to be more focused on himself during spring training, throwing the pitches that best prepare him for the season, and not necessarily the "smartest" ones. That means, Adam is throwing his slider a lot more than he would in a "normal" game. This is solely to develop his pitches, even in situations where a slider wouldn't be the "best" pitch to throw. So, the other day, Adam threw THREE sliders in a row. Coming from a pitcher who predominantly throws fastballs, that's a huge change, and one that's making him better.

Feast your eyes on THIS!
Oh...em...gee.
(I needed some serious emphasis)
My most delicious dessert yet: Apple Crisp Cheesecake!
SO GOOD it makes me want to SCREAM! Holy smokes. I can't believe how awesome it turned out. So here's the little story:
A girl in our small group is celebrating her birthday this week. I asked her husband what her favorite desserts were. Immediately, he blurted out "Cheesecake! Oh, and apple crisp too!" Then, I needed her favorite color. Pink. Duh! So, I mixed a few recipes and this is what I ended up with!!! Seriously, I impressed myself with this one ;)

Cheesecake recipe here (I used this recipe instead of the one given for the actual recipe below...I also and added another tsp of vanilla and TWO tbs of melted butter at the very end. Oh, after I added the butter, I added red food coloring to make it pink!)

I DARE YOU TO MAKE IT

And just because she's so stinkin precious:
This was our table at Bible study last night.
Sondra is too sweet to us!
