Day 4,505

The Ark Encounter

Daddy! Wake up! Time to go!

We said goodbye to our friends and our cabin and drove four hours north for our next vacation stop:

The Ark Encounter!!

Grandpa Larry and Grandma Tracy met us for this most incredible experience.

It’s nearly unspeakable how unbelievably thought-provoking and convicting our day at the Ark was. Bringing this biblical text to life underscored the sinful wickedness of humanity in contrast to our just, yet merciful Great God that rules over all creation. It highlighted the beautiful, simple, and utterly dependent trust Noah had in God, even in the midst of great scorn and opposition. Oh, that I would emulate such dependence in my own life! Visiting the Ark was sobering and humbling and a tremendous encouragement—that the Lord would choose to give us such examples of faith to look to is such a grace!

We probably needed another 6 hours to make it through all the Ark had to offer, buuuuuuut, three hours of walking and learning turned out to be enough for us!
