The MillieGirl is FIVE!
She’s five.
My first baby girl is five.
How can this be?

I remember so vividly five years ago when I met her. She had made me a mama and I loved her instantly and with a love I didn’t know I had the capacity for.

And much like the theme of her box this year made once again by her Auntie Kim(!), she captivated me like a fairytale captivates the heart of a child.

I love you so much Amelia Lynn.
And I’m so thankful to know you, to serve you, to raise you and teach you. The Lord was abundantly kind when he chose to give me you to love and nurture and snuggle and play and my girl, what a first five years it’s been!!!

You’re the sibling glue at this point and it’s been so fascinating watching you grow alongside your sisters and brother. You’re the peacemaker (usually), the more quiet and reserved of the four, and extremely tender. Everything you do, Ella Mae tries to copy and everywhere you go, there Bearett is found as well. The three of you are best friends and once baby girl Molly is a little bit older, I can’t wait to see the dynamic change.

We love you so much!
We love your kindness, your gentleness, your intellect and strength. We love your fearlessness, your shyness, your maturity and humor. We love listening to your heart and watching you learn. We love hearing you pray, helping you read God’s word, and the enthusiasm you have for knowing the Lord.

Ain’t it true!

She’s the girliest, most adorable and sweet five year old I’ve ever met. She loves dressing up, wearing Mom’s heels, everything pink, and putting on “makeup” (water on qtips). She loves doing gymnastics, riding her bike, swimming and diving, painting, going to church, singing and dancing, and driving her car. She is nearly a year ahead in school, loves learning and reading and makes up the words to the stories she knows as she reads her Bible. She loves making pink pancakes, chicken “with white sauce,” anything princess, and taking care of her babies. She’s shy in new situations, extremely sensitive to correction, gentle and thoughtful, and quite a bit quieter than my other three. Her laugh is infectious. Her heart is joy. She’s beautiful and brave. She’s strong and obedient.

To our best friend and big/little sister:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!

You make my heart do things I didn’t know it could.
You make my heart do things I didn’t know it could.
I’m crazy about you and am SO happy to get to call you mine. I hope you know just how much we love you. And I hope you’re learning that even more than the love we have for you, God’s love is so much greater. Trust Him as Lord, Amelia. That will forever be my prayer for you.
I love you!
