Day 3,036

The Perpetually Answered Prayer

Good morning from our campsite!
Yesterday marked the first time we’ve ever camped through the night together and with babes. It was an experience that we’ll surely get more acquainted and comfortable with but already, we’re getting the hang of things and just trying to enjoy it! I will say though that our first night in the tent was pathetic and mostly totally unpleasant. South Florida camping is a world of different from Washington State camping and on top of it, we’d neither done it before nor were the sole responsibility for planning every single last detail.

Mom (and Dad!): I never knew how much effort it took to take us all camping as much as we did growing up. But the days at Priest Lake have always been one of my most fond and vivid childhood memories and I’m so thankful to hopefully give my kids the same - albeit insanely hotter and more damp - experience enjoying life from the campsite.

We got to read God’s word to the babes from the fire pit, as we finally finished the book of 1 Samuel.

After breakfast and family time, the kids never stopped playing. Mud and sticks and fire and dirt and bugs and buried babies and balls and guns and more dirt and bikes and...

...babies in cold water buckets...

...and Capture the Flag Nerf Wars.

And then we added: FRIENDS!!!!!!!!!!!!

And that’s when we started to really love our little home in the wilderness. One by one, members of our church showed up with their tents and their smiles.

Our church. In the woods. All camping one night together!! FOR REAL!

Spending the night together with our church family was easily better than even Molly falling asleep on someone other than me or Daddy or grandmas or aunties!! And if you know Molly, this is a HUGE deal!!!

We spent the whole afternoon together and enjoyed the fellowship we so dearly love in the sweetest setting. The men made us all supper and once everyone was done, we gathered around the campfire.

And our course, roasted marshmallows!

Or is it “marshded” marshmallows?
You’ll have to ask Amelia.

Fire and friends. It couldn’t get better.

Except when it did. We were surprised with prepared lyric sheets that were handed out to each of us.

And our worship leader got out his guitar as we sang song after song of praise together to our Creator.

I can’t possibly find the right words to describe the extent of the gratitude and love we have to the Lord for blessing us so richly with such a beautiful body of Believers to live life with. It just keeps getting sweeter and sweeter. We love you, CBC. Truly, a prayer answered over and over and over again.
Praise God.
