The Simile?
I described the current atmosphere in our house to someone today by saying, “it’s a well-oiled train wreck at the moment!” I’m not sure exactly what I meant by that or if there’s even any oil on train tracks to begin with, but they got the idea. Maybe “organized chaos” would’ve been a better choice. I think I need to work on my similes. Metaphors? I never liked English class. In any case, it’s 100 MPH here while somehow standing still and we haven’t quite gotten our bearings yet after a long season, a hurricane, a big trip, a move, and two surgeries. All that to say, it was nice to get out of the house and spend some time in the fresh air yesterday. Bearett had his first coach pitch game, although he couldn’t even play and nearly cried the whole time because all he wanted to do was play. “I should’ve never had my tonsils out!”
Hopefully next weekend when he’s able to run without potentially coughing up blood, well rested and able to breathe correctly, he’ll have more fun! For now, I’m trying to use this specific time to fight sin that’s plainly clear in my life.

He may not be able to run and jump and wrestle and sweat, but he sure can read! And he’s been doing a lot of it - last night, he read to the whole family and everyone was able to enjoy his hard work!

Chugging along. Choo choo!
