Day 2,948

The Big Steps Forward

Oh Bub.
Yesterday we learned a lot of lessons.
One of them was that patience is SUPER hard to have in a Quest Diagnostics waiting room as a 6-year-old boy. While he sat upside down in his chair, we talked about how the Bible speaks about the last being first and that having to wait patiently on others (and on the Lord too) is the right thing to do.

Eventually we got to where we were going and Bearett had his blood drawn in impressive fashion. The phlebotomist complimented him, saying that he gives blood better than the adults she sees! Way to go Bear! He’s such a tough and fearless boy and we love that about him.

Wednesday morning, our Bub goes into surgery at 9AM to get his tonsils and adenoids removed, as well as tubes in his ears. We’re not crazy about the whole thing, but feel that this is the best option for his health and growth and so partially reluctantly, he’ll be in the hands of a fine surgeon tomorrow. Please pray for him.

Love you, Bearett! You’re going to do great and those gigantic tonsils aren’t going to get in your way any more! No more snoring, sleep apnea, teeth grinding, bed wetting, hard-of-hearing, hot potato talking, sore throat, tired mornings!

Onto the second part of our day...Daddy’s turn.
While in the waiting room at his appointment, he spotted a Bible hiding in plain sight and swooped it up. Nothing like a bit of waiting room reading pre-appointment!

Everything’s great and everyone’s happy.

And finally to close our the extremely long day, the two big girls got cozy in their bed together and though Ella Mae screamed and cried her guts out because she wanted to sleep with me instead, she DID finally fall asleep next to Sissy and we plan on this being our new normal until we find the perfect beds to put into THEIR room. Move over Amelia. The Katesy has entered!
