Day 2,940

The Last Day of 2019 Season

Our face knowing that after today, Daddy is HOME FOR THE OFFSEASON!!
2019 was sort of like this photo for us. Specifically, like the lipstick on Ella Mae’s face. The right color, the right ingredients, the right excitement and enthusiasm, and certainly the right face...the results, well, yeah. Not quite right.
Like I’ve said before though, truly, it was our best year yet as a family...which is saying a lot considering the results on the field on top of the fact that we have four children now, complicating things beyond what I could compile in a short blog post.
We are grateful for this season. We learned a lot. Grew a lot. And struggled WELL a lot. I’m not sure I could’ve ever said that before about another time in my life. Our lives. 2019 was a good year - and though the numbers and stats may say otherwise, the health and strength and faithfulness of my family are tangible proof that if you’re rooted in Christ, everything that happens to you IS for your own good. Even a 6.53 ERA. I said it.
However, I will say that I won’t argue for a more detailed and finesse approach to the results of Ella Mae’s lipstick application next year :) Finally touching that elusive 100 MPH mark would give the finished product the perfect shine.

In other Day 2,400 news...we packed up and went to my brother’s farm yesterday, where Ella Mae touched snow for the very first time!

WHAT IS DIS, MOMMY?!

IT’S SNOW!
(In September!)
AND YOU CAN EAT IT!
Weeeeeeeeee!

We had THE BEST time at Uncle Jacob’s house and enjoyed his company dearly! What a way to cap off the end of our season. Thank you SO much, Brother.

And THANK YOU, Marlins.
We love Our Colores.
Truly.
