The Chocolate
Two best friends said goodbye yesterday. They didn't understand the measure of their farewell, but I did. And it choked me up. These past three weeks have been so marked by growth and sacrifice, triumph and failure, mistakes and progress, and a whole bunch of tiny kid giggles. We're going to miss the excitement and sweetness of our little Bear - his absence already changing the pace of our lives. Amelia searched and asked for him today, but could only find him on FaceTime. It was weird not waking up to his sweaty body laying beside me or having to tell him fifty times to eat his breakfast. Hopefully his mommy only had to tell him 49 times today ;) We worked on so much while he was here and through it, we all grew tremendously. What I do desire most though is that he returns home knowing how much he's loved, how much he's cherished, and what an incredible young man he is. Not only by us, but more so by the "baby Jesus" he learned so much about while he was here. It is our prayer and great hope that Bearett would be saved at a young age and that he'd mature as a man marked by the Gospel. If you're a Believer and are reading this, I would ask that you'd be praying this over Bearett as well. It's both the least and the most we can do.
We love you forever, Bearett John Nicholas "Chocolate."
And we miss you so much already.
