Day Nineteen Hundred and Fifty-Seven

The Culmination

This is what a proud auntie will make a proud nephew look like after praising his HUGE accomplishment of finishing his breakfast in 11 minutes. Laugh you may, but this is serious praiseworthy progress. The day before, he took AN HOUR to finish his bowl of cereal and I wanted to pull my hair out - and his!! - because of it. Bear has had issues with mealtime, and so one of our biggest tasks has been getting him to eat both the food before him AND in a reasonable timeframe. So, Adam finally had the brilliant idea to give him a timer of 20 minutes to finish his meals. Paired with a pile of mashed potatoes on a spare plate within reach (which he strongly dislikes), and you go from 60 minutes to 11 minutes just like that!! And everyone leaves the table a whole lot more satisfied. Yay us!

Bearett's morning was incredible. And therefore, so was mine and Amelia's. Not ONCE the WHOLE ENTIRE DAY did our little guy have to go to timeout or get disciplined. Not once!! Praise God! And on top of that, he got to go to gymnastics and go swimming in the same day.

This basically sums up how we felt about our last day alone with our BearBear. What a joy it's been to grow alongside him these past three weeks and what a gift that we were able to see such clear fruit from our labor of love.

Love you forever, Bearett!
We're sure going to miss our days with you...and your cute Uncle Adam tail (parenting fail when you have no clean toddler undies and have to hair tie a pair of men's XL boxer briefs on instead)!
What a sweet day. My heart is full.
