Day Seventeen Hundred and Ninety-One

The 23rd Start and Ichiro's 3,000th Hit

Not from yesterday, but I forgot to upload a panorama view of Coors Field!

Adam's fan section in Colorado!
Yesterday started off nicely, but it quickly turned sour after getting ahead to a gigantic lead. But at least we had some shoulders to lean on (or cry on?)!

Don't want to watch the game anymore?! Mimi's got it right - just bury your head!

But then smile when you realize that, you know what, who even cares?! Adam has had a great season so far and sometimes, you have your days when things just don't go right. We'll give him a pass.

First pitch strike! But a lot of first pitch balls followed.

We were still cheering hard! Adam threw a lot of balls, which was what did him in the end. He also gave up two homeruns - to the same hitter - but managed to keep it together and was finished after the fifth inning. I told him...I think we need Matlock! The Fish gave Adam such a huge lead though that even as he gave up 6 runs in 5 innings, he walked away with the win.

And a sac bunt too!

His line:
5IP, 7H, 6R, 6ER, 4BB, 2K, 2HR, and the W
He's now 8-6 with a 3.70 ERA.

But in the end, nobody really remembered Adam's performance because everyone was so focused on Ichiro and his THREE THOUSANDTH HIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A triple!!

Ichiro is the 30th player in Major League history (and the first Marlin) to achieve this milestone - surely etching his name in the Hall of Fame for good!! What an incredible accomplishment. And what a treasure it was to be there to witness it in person after having watched him ever since we were young kids.

Congratulations, Ichiro!!!!
Your dedication to this sport is so obvious and something that brings such honor to this game.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What an achievement!

What a memory.
Thank you for showing this game, this country, and these children looking up to you such class, such integrity, and such camaraderie. I'm so grateful Adam gets to watch you play as I know just how much he respects you as a man. Bravo, Ichiro!

BRAVO!

We had an incredible time in Colorado with our friends and family as we all witnessed history together - each one of us a native of Washington and lifelong Mariners fans.

Farewell, Denver.
You sure are beautiful.

But not as beautiful as my perfect Amelia.
