Day Eighteen Hundred and Ten

The Pre-Teen?

I keep asking myself the same question: how?!!! How did this happen? She was a baby two days ago and then yesterday, she morphed into this stunning chunk of beautiful teenage personality right before my very eyes! I couldn't believe what I'd just witnessed. And it probably would've broke me if she wasn't so darn gorgeous. The hip pop. The phone. The smile and the beachy charm. The purse. The puppy. Her drink. Like, is this real life? Really? I sent Adam this photo immediately and he was just as shocked as me. But what I learned today was that he thought I had pieced this whole thing together. NOT SO FAST. This is 100% Amelia. I had nothing to do with this except that I got her dressed (in all her new 2T clothes) and snapped the photo.

Truth: she was already listening to our music on my phone in one hand the whole morning. Most typical of her. Does it every day. We recently purchased her a purse with dogs in it because she's obsessed with anything she can wear as a purse and she loves puppies. Funny thing is: I don't carry a purse anymore and we don't have puppies. Where she learns this stuff, I don't know. I can't say where on earth she learned the hip pop either and her cup of milk is her most recent "new thing" because otherwise, she'd be nursing every five minutes if she had it her way. Not happening. Morning, nap, night night, absolutely, but no milkie in the middle of a store at 1:30PM in the checkout line anymore. Sorry, but that's just going to be a "no" from now on. 18 months - I think that's fair? Anyways, so when I told her we were leaving - while she still had the phone in her hand - she bent down and grabbed the dog purse, wriggled it onto her shoulder, picked up her milk, looked me straight in the face and said "bye bye!" I was DYING laughing! And so, she started laughing too and we ended up with one of my most favorite pictures of all time! My heart can't handle it! Lord have mercy on us! She's such a joy and is constantly filling us with the most jaw-aching laughs. Goodnes, she's easy to love. And that sorta scares me because I'm already quickly thinking of her at sixteen and uhm, let's just say I'm SO grateful she has such a tremendous example in Adam to look up to. Love you forever BIG HUGE GIRL!
