The Ninth Start
This is how yesterday started.
Happy. Excited. And looking forward to another Daddy win.
But then...
It quickly changed to this.
HUH?!
Did you just see that, Mom?
Yeah, Baby, I'm watching the same game you are.
Adam was roughed up in a hard loss against the Nationals - something that's expected when you play baseball for a living. It was hard to watch - Adam was told to intentionally walk three hitter and then on top of it, walked four himself, for a total of a career-high SEVEN walks. If you know anything about Adam and what he stands for in baseball, walking guys is probably the worst thing he could commit. So to do it seven times in one game, well, you can probably imagine the mess of emotions he was battling. Tack on six runs, and it was a forgettable outing that we (I) hope stays locked in a cage for the rest of the year. He can't remember ever being more angry at a baseball game before and though he never brings his work home with him (PRAISE JESUS), it's still difficult to watch him struggle. Uh. Hate it. But I told him, "Hey, character building at it's finest, right?! Make a guy SUPER angry on national television and see how he reacts." I can't think of a better way! Always find the silver lining, my friends!
5.1IP, 7H, 6R, 6ER, 7BB, 2K
He's 3-3 with a 4.15 ERA.
Ok, so not all was lost yesterday. The baseball ladies and I had an incredible Bible Study during the game and then in the eighth inning, when we finished, Amelia and I rushed upstairs to meet Granmda Donna!!
We haven't seen her in way too long, so Amelia greeted her with a "nose get" and some big, huge smiles! We love you Donna and we miss you SO much!
