The MommyDaddyWins
MomWin by day.
(That's TWO sleeping babies by ONE tired Mommy)
DadWin by night.
(Check out Amelia watching her Daddy!)
That's one handsome Marlin with another hit!
We've been keeping it real lately.
Sometimes winning, a lot of the times surviving.

Days are a little messy, Mimi's being picky, and Mom's pretty sleepy. For the past week, our girl wants only crackers, pretzels, carrots, avocado, smoothies, and noodles, so all I feel like I ever do is nurse and nurse and nurse. I can't really complain though - after all, nursing is a reasonable weight-loss solution! Ha! Since being home, we offered to babysit Baby Landon this Monday through Friday, so our eyes are a little tired. But at least our hearts are full! He comes to us at 7:45 in the morning and we say hello to Mommy Brandi around 3!
We pushed through, though, and even with our tired bodies, we went to the gym and got in a nice workout right before Dada's start. I texted him, "Just dominated the gym. Now you can dominate the field." I think just maybe, Adam took my text into consideration. While he didn't "dominate" per se (at least not by baseball standards), he threw well and earned himself and the team a win. He even got himself a hit in the record books! With a new approach, Adam is aware that he's been walking too many guys and is committed to changing that. Good news: he only walked one last night! He's getting wiser and stronger and more prepared as each day goes by - it's always a learning experience in this game!
His line:
6IP, 8H, 1R, 1ER, 1BB, 5K, the W
He's now 3-2 with a 3.40 ERA
The Fish are battling in the NL East for 1st place in a very close division, separated only by 2 wins first through fourth place. It's already been a fun season and I can only imagine that it'll continue that way for the duration.
Also, just a little memory I wanted to remember:
Last night, we watched the game with our Friend Family here at home. Landon's daddy (Trent) is very much into all things sports and last night, he said something and made a face that so closely reminded me of my Dad that I couldn't help but think about my Dad the entire night and then throughout today. I sometimes find myself wondering what he - a true lover of the game - might say about Adam and his career so far. I can imagine him shouting each punchout and clapping sternly at every intense moment. I can imagine him screaming at the umps for a bad call. I can imagine him pacing the room and circling his thumbs, waiting for the next pitch. I can imagine his excitement, his passion, his obsession and joy. His frustration sometimes too. Most of all, I imagine him hugging Adam so tightly, thanking him for faithfully serving His God with all his heart and for loving his little girl the way Adam does. I know he'd be proud of Adam because he already was when he passed. And for more than just his baseball accomplishments.
