The First Start of 2014
And as the story would have it…
Adam's first start of the season was rain delayed two hours.
Not weird guys. We're used to this by now.
Buuuuut, this time around, there were no rainbows or butterflies following the storm. Dag gummit (as Adam would say).
Adam got hit around yesterday. Like, a lot. More than I'd ever seen before. Probably him too. Haha ;) He was up in the zone and hitters took advantage of his mistakes. It was a learning experience unlike he's had in pro ball so far, but hopefully he's better off because of it. However, you'll be happy to know that for the very first time ever, I didn't cry about Adam's bad outing! Can I get an AMEN?! Victoryyy! One of my biggest struggles I've faced as a baseball wife is the constant anxieties of both the unknown and the inability to have any sort of control over anything. The Lord has been working on my anxious heart these past couple of months, revealing to me how small my worries are and how big my God is…but how big I've made my worries and how small I've made my God. It's a mix-up that I'll continually pray not to confuse...because yesterday…it was the first time that I actually walked away from a baseball disaster with peace, hope, and a WAY bigger picture in mind.
Jesus. It's all about Him.

And because I do it every time…his line:
(It's like a car wreck: you want to cover your eyes, but I know you can't!)
4IP, 8H, 7R, 7ER, 2BB, 3K
(Although, I will point out that the one highlight of the game came in the third inning when Adam struck out the side…if only that were the case for the other three innings!!)
I'M PROUD OF YOU ADAM!
Even when you pitch like a bum!
XOXOXO!
Everyone has bad outings every now and then :) Gotta stay positive!
