Day Nine Hundred and Twelve

The Stabbing Rib Adjustment

So...my back. Oh, my back.
It's been hurting for an entire year. Right in the middle. To best describe my pain, it feels like a rib is literally poking me in the lung. In July, I had had enough. So naturally, I went to a chiropractor in Jacksonville. He took X-rays and did an MRI, but found nothing to suggest anything was wrong. He did some back cracking adjustments. Still, the pain persisted. The adjustments weren't adjusting anything, so I quit. Might as well save some money! So ever since, I've just put up with this chronic, awful pain.

And then we heard about Dr. Lucas Matlock.
Praise the Lord for Dr. Matlock!!
He's a chiropractor unlike any doctor I've ever met. In two and a half hours, he taught me (Adam too) more about my body than any doctor ever has. He took the both of us through a number of tests and discovered so much about of our bodies that we never knew! I couldn't say enough good things about him if I tried!

One of the tests he does is pictured in the above image. Stand on it and it'll tell you how much weight you carry on each side of your body. Turns out, I carry more weight on my left side than my right. And so does Adam. Crazy! This is a problem. And one we're going to fix!

I also found out that I have scoliosis. You'd think that in all my years of training and athletics, this would've been discovered. Not! Ugh!! Anyways, this can be corrected, but it'll take time and effort. And first, it starts with my neck vertebrae, which all have what's known as subluxations - they're in the wrong place. So, Dr. and I are going to work on my subluxations until I have a new, healthy neck that's calcium-deposit free! (At the rate my neck is building calcium, in a few years I'll have arthritis unless it's fixed!)

But then...the relief!!
Doctor put Adam all back together...and then did me! And GUESS WHAT?!!!
My rib WAS out of place! Actually, FIVE of them were. That means I'm not crazy!! Something actually was wrong with me! Yaaaaay! So, he put me back together, and tada!!! No more stabbing pain! Oh thank heavens!!! I haven't felt this good in a year. Wow. So so so thankful for Dr. Matlock!

  1. What a great development! I've read so many times that back pain is the world's leading reason why people take pain killers, and that is not healthy. It's good that you were able to find a great chiropractor, who dealt with your chronic back pain. I hope you're in the best of health this season! Cheers!

  2. I'm glad that your chiropractor had been such a huge help to both Adam and you. Hopefully, your chronic pain has lessened, or better yet, has gone away permanently. Regular chiropractic therapy should help if the pain comes back. Take care, Kendall. All the best! :)

  3. It’s a good thing that you found another chiropractor to help you and Adam out. Different doctors might have different conclusions, it’s just a matter of finding the one that actually addresses your issue or need. Anyway, it’s nice that Chiropractic has helped you with your rib pain. It has a lot of perks that you can rely on, no? Thanks for sharing this with us, Kendall. Have a great day!
