Day Five Hundred and Fifty-Five

The 38 Pitches

Adam threw again yesterday!!
Three innings this time and looking great!
(And holy flexible husband! That doesn't look so comfy!)
He pitched against the AAA team, finding success in some aspects, and things to grow from in others. His slider is a work in progress - some are good...some are not -  but he's using this spring to learn how to command the pitch. Unlike his fastball, which he's especially confident with, the slider is more difficult for him to get a feel for because he only recently started throwing it in college. I can't wait for the day that he comes home with news of a huge off-speed breakthrough  :)

Adam was allowed to throw either three innings or 50 pitches yesterday - whichever came first. Well, in three innings, he only threw 38 pitches, so, following his final inning, he had a post-game bullpen to make up those unused 12 pitches. I zoomed in real close and got a good look at his face...and unlike ever before, I saw his eyebrows slant into a frown. He was mad! Maybe frustrated is more accurate. Working on that slider is his biggest challenge and apparently, it wasn't going his way in the bullpen. He'll just have to keep working through it...someday soon, Honey, it'll come!
