Day Five Hundred and Six

The King's Academy Senior Night

It was Senior Night at King's Academy and in just one week, we've formed a cheering allegiance for TKA (The King's Academy) because of this young man's grandparents. His name is Jacob, and after 14 years at King's, he's finally bidding farewell to the school he's known since he was just a little one. Without having known Jacob at all, we can tell that he'll dearly be missed. In just a few words, his coach and accolades spoke of a young man deeply loved by the school, by his peers, and by the community around him. He loves the Lord and wherever he chooses to go after school, I just know that His light will shine through Jacob.

Kings is the second school we've visited in the last week. Just like Jupiter Christian, this campus is beautiful! Only, TKA's gym is a little nicer, I must say! Wow!

(Now Grama, I don't want you getting jealous or anything...hehehe, love you!)

Meet Sondra and Dennis! Jacob's grandparents and our Bible study small group hosts! Well actually they're more than just our hosts - they're our friends. And very dear ones, at that! When we met them just two weeks ago, I couldn't help but thanking God for knowing exactly what I needed: some family time. I'm 4,000 miles away from the redheads that I miss more than anything. My Mommie, Grama, and three sisters are my very best friends and it's been rough on me not being able to see them. It's not that I'm really lonely here, rather, just lonely for them. And then walked in Sondra. Well, I guess technically it was me who walked in. From their home, to her cooking, to Dennis' dishes duties, I pinched myself to make sure that I wasn't actually back home at Grama and Papa's. Well, as turns out, I wasn't. They don't have Papa juice or CrazyCatTiger, but Dennis does collect model airplanes (kinda like Papa's trains...and everything else) and Sondra has her special dolls (kinda like Grama's bins and bins of seasonal decorations)! And though I'd love to have my family here with me, I feel so blessed that God's placed another family in my life with the same sweet hearts that I've been missing so much lately. Over dinner at Ruby Tuesday - and a delicious menu that we'll be coming back to - Adam and I enjoyed our new friends whom we felt like we've known a whole lot longer than we have.

Oh, and this makes me smile too:
Jacob and his sister Summer (Dennis and Sondra's grandkids) are both redheads too :)

Oh, one more thing! Take a look at this! The Marlins released their official Spring Training Invite list! I'm just so excited to see where the Lord takes us this season!
