The Dive
I birthed a daredevil.
The kid has my stomach in my throat daily.
Yesterday, someone decided to go diving into the pool.
Without me.
"OH! Chlorine floaty-thingy-majigger! I want!"
*SPLASH*
Thank GOD I was standing just two feet from her when she dove headfirst into the shallow end. I was holding baby Landon, saying something to Brandi, and in a second's time, I shoved him into his mommy's arms and grabbed Amelia by her left leg, pulling her as hard as I could out of the chilly water. I'll never forget the look of her shocked body sinking deeper and deeper into the water. Oh my heart. So horrible. I'll vomit just thinking about it. Uh.
She came out of the water with a gasp and maybe ten seconds of tears, but then...a smirk! Such a stinker. I knew she was fine because she was only in there a maximum of two seconds, but still. I wasn't expecting her to be back to her normal self that fast. That's her personality though and we love her for it. To ease my heart and mind and soul and stomach, I held her for some time and then let her sunbathe her shivers away.
Oh sweet Amelia, you are Mommy's favorite little thing ever - and the absolute cutest - but why must you terrorize me like you do?!
This. This is much better. Just sit. And don't move. And learn. And read. That's it. STAY! Can't hurt yourself reading, right?! Please, Amelia. Don't tell me you can.
