Day Sixteen Hundred and Eighty-Six

The Fourth Start of 2016

AT&T Park: a thing of beauty.
I asked Adam which road stadium has been his favorite to pitch in and he said San Francisco - St. Louis and New York coming in close seconds. Not surprising! Their fans are loud, proud, and fill the most gorgeous park I've ever seen!

Yesterday sure was special. And really long too. We got to watch Adam pitch in front of lots of family and friends and after doing his job and keeping us in the game, Amelia and I said bye to our loved ones and flew to LA. We arrived to the hotel at midnight and are exhausted.

We had a beautiful time in SF. Being able to watch Adam alongside my family was a blessing and something I'll forever cherish, especially since it was in a place with so much Conley history. Adam didn't disappoint, but as it turns out, baseball did. He pitched 5 2/3 innings of 2-run baseball. With two outs in the Sixth, men on First sand Second, and us leading 4-2, Adam was taken out of the game. We were trying to keep the lead and the decision made sense - Dad didn't have his best stuff yesterday. But instead of getting out of the inning clean, both his runners scored - which counted against his ERA and lost him the potential win. Hey, it's baseball. But sometimes, it does crush your heart. At least the Fish took home the eventual victory! However, Adam's ERA is pretty inflated and mostly ugly.

His line:
5.2 IP, 7H, 4R, 4ER, 4BB (kill me), 2K, 1HR, and a No Decision. He didn't have his best stuff and the Giants don't strike out as a team much, so we're pretty proud of his effort for keeping the Marlins in the game! He even had a 10-pitch at-bat to help at the plate!! Better that a three-strike punchout!

Goodnight from LA. This girl can hardly keep her eyes open.

Oh also, Adam pitches Friday in Milwaukee.
