Day Sixteen Hundred and Ninety

The Gambler

Another day, another airport.
This time, in Vegas, where Amelia thought she'd test her luck at slots. She nearly pulled off a jackpot before the lady attendant whisked over to my Sweet and forbade her from any further gambling. Apparently they don't agree with one-year-olds depleting their piggy bank savings. Such morality!

Yesterday, Mimi and I flew from Los Angeles to Spokane and ate pizza and chocolate in the meantime. Airport food: you kill me. Probably literally. While we were flying to Washington (to see the family for a few days), Adam was on another flight to Milwaukee. His team stayed to play the series finale 7PM game in LA (we swept the Dodgers!!), but Coach Mattingly advised Adam to skip the game and fly early without his team to Milwaukee in order to better prepare for his start. Turns out, the Marlins didn't arrive to the Milwaukee hotel until seven AM this morning. And it also turns out that this decision was likely a very good call by Adam's veteran coach.

One more thing: please be praying for ALL our Marlins boys in Miami. They lost a big part of their club yesterday with news of a teammate's suspension. Though they are resilient and WILL continue fighting for W's, the news was an emotional revelation to us all. Already so proud of the grace that's come out of the locker room, but always, prayers are appreciated. Let's Go Fish!!
