The First Ballot
Amelia cast her first vote yesterday.
She closed her eyes and randomly pointed to a Republican candidate (not named Trump), and that's who we went with. Ok, not really. Well, really on the no Trump thing, but Daddy and I did a bit more leg work than closing our eyes and casting our votes. Although at this point, that's almost how anyone can pick someone anymore. We're feeling quite anxious about what lies ahead for our country. And though I've not ever expressed our political views in a public forum, we really believe America is headed down a very dark path if in fact, we select either front-runner as our president. But still, we voted. As that is our duty. Even though - every time - the candidate of our choosing is never likely to win the nomination. Because what matters most to us is not often what matters to most.
