Day Sixteen Hundred and Twenty-Nine

The Best Year of our Lives

Precious Amelia.
Oh, my girl!
I can't believe it's already been a year.
My heart leaps for this tiny soul and I can't even begin to fathom how quickly time has sped by and how fast she's grown. A year ago yesterday, I met the sweetest, most gentle and fun girl I'd ever laid my eyes on. I didn't know it then just how much my heart would grow in one year, but if my chest wasn't holding it in, it might just burst right out. She's taught me so many things in a year's time and I'm forever grateful that God chose me to be Mommy to this girl. She's everything I could've hoped to love and everything I prayed for - and so much more. I spent 365 days praising the Lord for Amelia's life and I'll spend the rest of my days in continued praise for allowing me to love SUCH a delicate and beautiful person. February 27th: what a cherished day. Amelia Lynn Conley: what a cherished soul. We love you, Dearest Girl. The HAPPIEST First Birthday to you!

Yesterday was filled with so many smiles, so many friends, so much pink, and so much cake! It was everything I hoped it would be, though, I did expect more of a reaction out of Mimi to her first taste of sugar! She instead ate it piece by piece, almost savoring every last drop of her personal oatmeal cake heaven. Our little princess! We laughed and sang and played and danced. We ate cake and opened gifts and celebrated life. Amelia was surrounded by people who dearly love her and people she dearly loves. It was precious watching her interact with her South Florida family, giving me pause to reflect on just how blessed we are by our friends here; God's mercy and grace were on full display yesterday in the lives of the people He's placed in our path.

God is so good.
We are so thankful.

(In my exhaustion, I leave you with 35 more photos of Amelia's Big Day. And tomorrow, Amelia's Twelfth Milestone photo blog will be written, accompanied by a very special video that I put together for my favorite girl ever. Enjoy!)

Give me caaaake!

Oh?!

Hmmm.

Is that mine, Mommy?

I don't know what to do.

*Poke*

You ready for this, Dada?

Let's see what all the hype's about.

Oh? Oh!

Oh yeah!

I'll take that piece. And that piece.
Mmmmm. Tasty!

Ok, I'm done. That was good but get me outta here! My tummy!

All better.

Fresh dress, big bow, fun friends.

Now this is a party!

Dadaaaa!

Definitely can't party without him!
Just ask all his teammates in college.

Look at my new piano! I just LOVE music!

And I love books!

And this applesauce was pretty good too.

So was Mom's nose. For some reason, it tasted especially delicious on my birthday.

Mom, is that for me?! A giraffe tricycle? Oh woooooow!

Look who came all the way from Tampa to party with me! I love you Tia Ale!

Girl's gotta have the biggest bow on her biggest day, right?

Mom agrees.
Big bows and matching outfits.
That's recipe for a perfect day.

(I forgot to post this yesterday, but looked who took her first official steps the day before her birthday!)

I love you so, Amelia Lynn.
Happy happy happy birthday, My Littlest Love.
