Day Fourteen Hundred and Twenty-Five

The Fourth Relief Appearance

It's weird not to title this blog post, "The ____ Start" because Adam has been a starter his whole career. BUT, we'll take whatever the Marlins give us, and if that's a job in the bullpen, then...awesome!!! I won't argue with this view one bit!

Upon closer inspection...nope, still not going to argue! Haha! So fun! I actually think he looks quite sexy in his bullpen-issued Minion backpack, worn by the youngest rookie in the 'pen! Gives me an idea of what he'll look like in a few years when the babes are older! (Auntie Kim, I know you're loving this!!!)

We weren't expecting Adam to throw yesterday, so instead of sitting in our regular seats, one of the wives, our chiropractor (Dr. Matlock is here!!!), a few of his friends, and me all sat out by the bullpen and watched the game from an angle that's been completely foreign to me.

We were having such a nice time...watching Adam just sit there. Haha. I've never been so mesmerized by my husband sitting in a chair! We were talking, and laughing, telling jokes and playing with Amelia when quite suddenly, Adam was up and hustling around. Our starter suffered a line drive to the knee and Adam was called on to pitch long relief.

Amelia got to watch her Daddy (she actually saw him!) stretch and warm up before we walk-sprinted (in our wedges) all the way to our seats before Adam ran in.

Call to the bullpen!

Adam threw three innings against the Atlanta Braves and had two at-bats.

In his first at-bat in the top of the Fourth, Adam smacked a single to left field for his very first hit of his MLB career!!!! In his second at-bat, he sac bunted a runner to second before calling it a day.

His hit!!

(And yes, that was Amelia sleeping right through it! She says, "Hey, quiet down guys, I'm sleeping. It'll take more than a single in the Big Leagues to impress me, Dada.")

His bunt.
Adam, is that mud you're running in? ;)

His line wasn't as clean as we like it to be, but I'm still so proud of the accomplishments he's achieved so far! He's working his tail off and fighting hard for his spot on this team. One bad pitch (and a stinkin walk) is all it takes sometimes to turn your line uglier than it should be. But everyone has to give up a homer at some point, so we might as well get it over with now!

3IP, 3H, 3R, 3ER, 1BB, 1K, 1HR, a single, a sac bunt, and a 4.05 ERA.
