Day Fourteen Hundred and Thirty-Eight

The NINTH Apartment

Psssst! Tiny Escape Artist...wake up Sweetie!
Time for another morning flight.

This time?
HOME.
Oh my gosh, home.
Home.
HOME.
We finally have a condo in Miami...and for now...it's totally...
HOME.
Because anywhere Adam is, is home to us.
Thank you, Jesus for a rest from our nonstop, hotel-sleeping, restaurant-eating, very-exciting, but oh-so-tiring month of travel.

This would be our ninth home in less than 4 years.
Amelia is clearly happy to have...

A KITCHEN!
We can finally cook! And do dishes! And wipe down counters! Hooray!

Last-minute condo renting is always a nightmare.
But every single time, the Lord has provided, in ways we thought nearly impossible. And it indeed happened again this time.
We found this listing through a website called AirBnB. It's essentially a listing of people's homes that are rented out to guests, in a way that resembles a hotel stay. The guest enters how many nights they want to stay, and AirBnB matches them with owners who have those dates available. So, because we didn't want to sign a 6-week lease (which would be just stupidly expensive), this sort-of hotel-type renting style sounded like the perfect match. No first, last, or security deposit to pay! With the season ending in the first week of October, we needed to book 48 consecutive "nights."  Turns out, this BNB listing was the best available option for the price. So, we inquired to book it and were accepted that very same day!

Renting in Miami is no joke.
I was flabbergasted at the price of some all of these condos down here. I'm not kidding...I saw a listing for $15,000 A MONTH. Fifteen grand. Honestly. Like, we're talking 15 and then three zeros afterwards?! Is this real life? They better offer an in-house grocery store, chef, and theme park for that price!
This one we found was on the very low end of the renting options available and it looked great in all the photos I could see. I felt like we scored big tall time with ours!

And when we finally stepped inside, we were surprised to find a home that was so much more than what we saw in the pictures. Our landlord had the candles lit, a bottle of wine on the table, and extra blankets out for my cold toes. We are so grateful this condo was available and that we have such a generous owner to work with. It's definitely a lot more artsy looking than Adam and I have ever experienced, but we are in Miami, after all.

Right in the heart of it, actually.

And though we mostly despise city-living, it sure does look pretty at night.
