Day Thirteen Hundred and Seventy-Eight

The First Father's Day

When I married Adam, I knew he'd make a great father one day.
But praise God what an understatement that was!
What I didn't know then was that "great father" could never - not ever - come close to describing the father Adam is to our most precious little Amelia. He so much more to her - and to me - than that, and I'll never get over just how blessed I am to have such an incredible, God-fearing man to lead our family.

Adam is a servant.
A confidant.
A true friend and laborer.
He is loyal and diligent, persistent and kind.

Adam is a leader.
A lover.
A learner.
He's a humble man.
Patient, honest, deliberate, forgiving.
He's easy to love. Easy to trust and more fun than anyone!

All these things, I pray Amelia learns from her Daddy and emulates one day.

But the one thing I pray most steadfastly over, is that Amelia will know and love Christ with the same passion and fire that her Daddy has for his Savior. That she'll recognize grace and mercy, love and compassion through the example of her Daddy and that one day, realize that it's only through Jesus that Daddy is the man he is.

I will forever give thanks for the husband Adam is and the father he's become.
I didn't know a love like this was possible, but with the Lord at the center, hallelujah, it is!!

Happy first Father's Day, Daddy! I hope you know just how much we love you.
