Day Thirteen Hundred and Fifty-Four

The Third Month of Millie

Amelia Lynn,
Oh, what a joy you are, my Baby. It's hard for Mommy to believe that it's been three whole months since I very first met those gorgeous blue eyes and cuddled your most precious little soul. I hate that time seems to be getting faster by the second, but I do absolutely love watching you grow. It's a miracle - your sweet life - and I'm looking forward with nothing but smiles to all the things we'll get to experience together.

This month, you were quite the busy one! You visited two new states, celebrated my first Mother's Day, attended three Bible studies, drove 700 miles, and watched lots and lots of baseball. You also found your feet, splashed in the tub (you LOVE showers with Mama followed by a bath afterwards), and started playing with your toy rings. You especially enjoy meal time (which was more frequent than Month Two) and have now started to pull away from me with a HUGE smile on your face and a mouth full of milk! It's the cutest thing you do. By far. Those giggles are my absolute favorite...and the coos that accompany them...ah!!! Talk about an endorphin surge! You are just too much!!

We finally were able to start working out again, so the two of us went on several jogs around our apartment complex this month. Mommy isn't feeling too great about how hard it's been to get back into shape, but she realizes that she'll figure it out someday! You especially love the feeling of wind on your face and the kisses you get when I stop to do squats and push-ups on our runs; they're actually more like wogs, but who's keeping track? Not you!

Laying on the floor in the bathroom is your favorite spot to hang. You stare at the lights, squeal at the hair dryer, and kick your legs like you mean it. One time, you ruined one of your towels while laying there too! You love to be naked, so Mommy took a chance. It didn't payoff. Good thing we have lots more towels!! I did learn my lesson, however, and now I try to bathe you AFTER you poop, not before. That way I can let you go naked for as long as possible before putting SIZE TWO diapers on your chunky butt (which has earned yourself the nickname "Four Cheeks"). Dad gave you that one.

Let's see. You still sleep with Mommy and Daddy, you helped Ma learn to pump, you coached Pa to a better slider, and definitely, you continue to hate anything to do with car rides. And twice this month, you fell asleep IN your swing. That was monumental, my lady. You also earned yourself the title of CUTEST BAT GIRL EVER when you wore your Conley jersey to the field for the very first time! You're just the best. (Thanks again Aunt Kim)!

So, get this: Whitacre has actually become someone you recognize and love now! You grab him real tight, pull on his ears, and suck on his nose. Sometimes you even laugh in his face!

And oh my, how we ADORE those legs!! It's no surprise that Dad also gave you the random nickname "Hamhawk." He always says, "look at them hamhawks," while squeezing your awesomely chubby thighs. We don't know why he originally called them that or how he came up with it, but it stuck!

You're the prettiest, sweetest, most scrumptious little best friend I could've asked for. And I secretly love the fact that right now, during this most dependent stage in your life, you want nothing else but the nearness and closeness of your Mommy. You'll probably never want to cuddle this close or spend this much time with me ever again, so Baby, you better believe I'm taking in every moment.

Thank you for coloring my life in hues I've never seen before. You're truly incredible. A blessing, no doubt. And I marvel at God's precious creation every time I look into your eyes.

Happy Three Months, Millie. Mommy loves you more than you'll ever know.

Always,
Mama
