Day 2,285

The Long Exhale

The simple things are our favorite things.
Big offseason breakfasts with Daddy can’t be beat, knowing especially that after we clean up, Dad gets to stay home with us. It sure is nice to have him back. Nicer than nice. We are so thankful. It came at the perfect time.

To wrap up the 2018 season, Adam recorded 50.2 innings in 52 games, compiling 50 strikeouts and a 4.09 ERA in his first year in the bullpen. Entering into the season initially as a starter in AAA, Adam found a sweet spot in the ‘pen once he ironed out the huge changes he made mechanically during the 2017 offseason. He was able to increase his average velocity by 5 MPH, recorded his highest velocity ever at 99.19 MPH(!!), and pitched better in every category apart from ERA - which was offset by just three bad outings totaling 13 runs. He also recorded his first save of his career and ended up saving three games in total. He also added one babe to the Conley clan, who’s making her debut in February 2019! A busy year for sure. We’re proud of our Papa and encouraged by the tremendous steps he took this year on the field. And easily, without comparison, we’re even more proud of the growth we witnessed in him in Christ.

We love you, Daddy.
And we sure are happy to have you home, even though we already miss baseball. A little.
